Google recently unveiled its yearly roundup of the finest apps and games available on the Play Store in India. The Google Play Best of 2024 awards emphasize applications centered around practical and user-focused designs, primarily developed by Indian creators aimed at niche audiences. The announcements showcase significant progress in various fields such as tailored news, fashion advice, social gaming, and intelligent expense management, all driven by advancements in artificial intelligence.

As stated in a recent blog entry, the accolade for Best App of the Year in India was awarded to Alle, an innovative app designed for personal styling. This application utilizes artificial intelligence to present features such as customized outfit suggestions, professional guidance, virtual try-on experiences, and immediate outfit assessments. In addition to winning Best App, it also received the award for Best for Fun.

A representative from Alle expressed, “We recognized that the recent strides in Generative AI, paired with changing consumer tastes for visually inspiring content, present a significant chance to transform how individuals explore and purchase fashion. This insight inspired the creation of Alle.”

The list of the top apps and games for the Google Play Best of 2024 highlights several notable mentions. WhatsApp, boasting over 2 billion active users monthly across more than 180 nations, earned the accolade for Best Multi-device App from the technology giant. Furthermore, the company celebrated apps designed for larger displays, with Sony LIV taking home this honor. Baby Daybook was recognized in the Top Picks for Timepieces section, whereas Rise: Habit List was hailed as the Best Hidden Gem of the year.

As for gaming titles, Squad Busters was crowned Top Game and Top Multiplayer Experience of the Year, while Indus Battle Royale won the award for Best Made in India Game. Clash of Clans received the title for Best Multi-device Game, Yes, Your Grace garnered the Best Story award, and Bloom - A puzzle adventure was honored as the Best Indie Game. Following its return to the Play Store last year, Krafton's Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) was also recognized with the Best Ongoing award as part of the Google Play's Best of 2024 in Games list.
